                                                        Traditional weddings

Bapedi traditional wedding is a cultural wedding were by families come together to celebrate their loved ones love engagement. When the family from the grooms side visits the bride's family they get there and use specific words to ask for the bride's hand in marriage such as 're bone sego sa meetse' , the bride then sits down in front of her parents and acknowledge the grooms family. The family and friends that attend the wedding they wear traditional attires, they prepare traditional foods and traditional beers after they celebrate. All this photos are from google.





                                               Bapedi initiation school

 The school is  cultural or traditional, both boys and  girls attend the school, they are taken away to the bush or mountain for a period of a month. Boys get circumcised and taught  how to be a man, responsibilities and respect. Girls get taught to respect, duties that women do and given instruction in sexual matters. At the day of their return their parents and loved ones celebrate them.






                                                                     Traditional food

Bapedi eat cultivated plans, domestic animals, indigenous plans and fruits. This  culture has many kinds of food, it has Thophi which is made by maize meal, butternut and suger, Mopani worms, Morogo (which is cooked and left dry in the sun), Temites and many more.



                                                                Traditional games

as Bapedi we have several  traditional games that are played my young and adults. Adults play morabaraba, others are played by young which are khati, diketo, ulu, makgutelana(hude and seek).
